SeedBank is a personal seed collection manager. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

Data We Collect

Data you provide:

• Seed names, varieties, quantities, and notes you enter manually
• Photos of seeds or seed packets taken or selected from your photo library
• Sowing and harvest dates, storage locations, and germination records
• Year planner entries and growing notes

Data collected automatically:

• Growing region / locale — SeedBank detects your approximate region using your device's system locale setting (e.g. en-GB, en-US). This does not use GPS or precise location data. It is used solely to tailor gardening advice to your climate.

Third-Party Services

Camera and Photo Library

SeedBank requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you add photos to your seed records. Photos are stored in your seed collection and are not shared with any third party other than Firebase for storage purposes.

What We Do NOT Collect

Data Storage and Security

Your seed data is stored in Firebase Firestore with standard Google Cloud security controls. Your growing region preference is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to third parties.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your seed collection data is retained in Firebase for as long as you use the app. To request deletion of your data, please contact us using the details below and we will remove it within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

SeedBank is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
